Passport
Your passport should remain valid for the full duration of your journey.
Many destinations—particularly those catering to discerning travelers—require a minimum of six months’ validity beyond your return date, while select countries allow for three months.
For peace of mind, arrange a secure backup by keeping a high-quality photocopy or a clear, encrypted image stored on your phone.
Luggage
Baggage Allowance: Enjoy the convenience of one checked bag (up to 50 lbs) or one carry-on designed to fit seamlessly in the overhead compartment.
Personal Item: You may also bring one elegantly sized personal item that tucks neatly beneath the seat in front of you for effortless access in-flight.
Luggage Identification: You will receive a custom luggage tag prior to departure, elegantly designed to identify you as part of our exclusive travel group and ensure seamless handling at each hotel.
Currency & Payments
Currency: Euro (€). U.S. dollars are not accepted.
Currency Exchange:
When withdrawing cash, always use an ATM located within a reputable bank branch rather than standalone machines, airport kiosks, or street-side currency exchanges. When prompted, select euros rather than dollars—this ensures your bank applies the most favorable exchange rate with minimal markup, preserving the value of your funds for more indulgent experiences.
Credit Cards:
Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted across Croatia, while American Express is more limited. Carry a premium card with no foreign transaction fees.
For the most seamless experience, carry a premium credit card with no foreign transaction fees and ensure it supports contactless “tap-and-pay”—a convenience available almost everywhere.
For optimal exchange rates, always select to pay in euros (local currency) when presented with the choice.
VAT Tax Refunds
Tax-Free Shopping: Many high-end goods qualify for a VAT refund—though this does not apply to food, hotel stays, or most transportation. Most countries set a minimum qualifying purchase of approximately €75 per item.
When making purchases, carry your passport and return flight details, as these are often required for processing.
At the airport, allow additional time for the refund procedure, which must be completed before departure.
You will need to present the purchased item for inspection, so keep it in your carry-on rather than checked luggage.
Staying Connected (Mobile & WIFI)
For uninterrupted service abroad, consult your mobile carrier regarding premium international plan options tailored to your needs.
Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available in all of our carefully selected hotels, and most cafés and lounges also offer reliable connections for your convenience.
To ensure seamless communication during your journey, WhatsApp will be our primary method for sharing updates, coordinating activities, and staying in touch with fellow travelers.
Electrical & Charging Needs
Croatia uses Type C and Type F plugs with a 220V electrical standard. We recommend bringing a sleek, high-quality travel adapter for chargers and devices, and a voltage converter for appliances such as curling irons—unless they are dual-voltage.
For guests traveling with CPAP machines, please confirm your device is dual-voltage or bring an appropriate converter.
Hair dryers are thoughtfully provided in all our curated hotels—often tucked in the bathroom, drawers, or closets for your convenience.
Tipping Guidelines
Throughout your journey, gratuities for all meals and porterage included in the itinerary are fully covered for your convenience.
When dining independently, a discreet gesture of appreciation is customary:
Restaurants & Cafés: Round up the bill or offer 5–10%; in fine dining establishments, 10–15% is standard, with up to 20% appropriate for truly exceptional service.
Bars & Lounges: A tip of €1 per drink or rounding up the total is considered gracious.
Tipping private guides, drivers, and boat skippers is not expected but always appreciated, particularly when they go above and beyond to enhance your experience. As a general guideline:
Private Guides: €10–30 per service
Drivers: €5–30, depending on the length of the transfer or drive
Boat Skippers: €20–50 per day
Your host, Mare, works diligently behind the scenes to ensure your journey is seamless and enjoyable. Depending on the level of support you receive, a tip of €20–30 per day is customary. Should you choose to tip, please let her know – you may either hand it to her directly or leave it in an envelope with the cruise manager on board.
Our curated experiences are designed to ensure you can relax, knowing the essentials are taken care of, while still allowing you to extend thanks for extraordinary service.
Private Car Hire
For those wishing to explore independently, Croatia offers a wide selection of rental vehicles, from compact cars to luxury SUVs. We recommend reserving in advance, particularly during peak travel months.
International Driver’s Permit required (available from AAA).

When mentioning the Dubrovnik Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary - or simply the Cathedral, as the people of Dubrovnik call it - two associations offer themselves to the connoisseurs.
One is connected with the legend of the vow of the English king Richard the Lionheart, and the other with the richness of the Cathedral treasury, testifying to the outstanding reputation of the Dubrovnik goldsmith trade from the 11th to the 18th centuries. Aware of that, the businesslike, wise, suspicious, and cautious people of Dubrovnik at the time secured the wealth stored at the Cathedral with three keys. One was kept by the rector, the second by the bishop, and the third by the Republic secretary, and the treasury doors could be unlocked only when using the three keys simultaneously.
The former Romanesque cathedral located at the same site, built from the 12th to the 14th centuries, largely owes its construction to the English king Richard the Lionheart. Having survived a shipwreck near the storm-stricken Island of Lokrum on his way back from the 3rd Crusade in 1192, he vowed to donate the money for the construction of a large church to the city in possession of the first land he set his feet on. This luxurious Romanesque basilica with a dome was completely destroyed in the great earthquake of 1667.
At that tragic time, the curator and later rector of the Vatican Library was, fortunately, Stjepan Gradić, the renowned historian, philosopher, poet, and diplomat, who used his influence to help his native city. He managed to bring the most distinguished Italian architects to Dubrovnik, including Andrea Buffalini, who realised Gradićs wish to design a new cathedral in the Baroque style after the church architecture models at the time. On the basis of Buffalini's design, Paolo Andreotti began the construction of the Cathedral in 1672. It lasted for many years, and numerous masters had been engaged. The construction was eventually completed in 1713 by the local master Ilija Katičić.
The interior of this three-nave church with a dome comprises several valuable altars in the Late Baroque style. Particularly fascinating are the works by the great Titian and his workshop (poliptych The Assumption of the Virgin Mary from the 16th century) above the main altar, Raphael's Madonna della Seggiola, The Flight into Egypt by the Italian painter Savoldo, etc. The Dubrovnik Cathedral is not only a fine example of Dubrovnik's rich history and art, but also an intriguing archaeological site which raises numerous questions about the first millennium of Dubrovnik.
During the restoration works on the Cathedral damaged by the earthquake of 1979, the archaeologists discovered the remains of yet another cathedral older than the one in the Romanesque style. They determined that this cathedral originated in the 7th century, which produced evidence in support of Dubrovnik being a developed urban community already at that time.
The well-known Rector’s Palace, located in Ulica Pred Dvorom, just south of Luža Square, is an iconic building that was originally built in the 13th century and rebuilt later on two occasions in a Venetian-Gothic style designed by Michelozzo Michelozzi. In times of Raguza, the Rector’s Palace housed government and state offices as well as the Rector’s headquarters and living accommodation. Nowadays, the palace houses the Town Museum – Gradski Muzej as well as a music concert hall.
Enjoy the day at leisure in Dubrovnik.
In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at Taj Mahal in the Old Town, savoring local flavors and warm hospitality in a charming historic setting.
After the dinner coach transfer back to your hotel.
